It's not a gotcha. It's a "of course you do" with maybe an extra sentence. I don't really know elph but he seems to be someone who defines himself by a contrarian set of values.

Nothing you could add would erase the fact that you applied factual standards to the most explicitly value-laden statement one could make, which is pretty funny.

Saying one has "moral" opposition to Zappa? On the face of it, it's one of the least contrarian positions one could take. More of a Tipper Gore one (I'm not saying Elph's "moral" opposition to Zappa is along those lines. On the face of it, however etc).

Has anyone ever met someone who loves to read Foucault and isn't a pompous dick? It's a part of the package.

No you're both dumb. Unless you have some idea why elph is morally opposed to Zappa you have no basis to disagree with him. He could just be making a joke and you wouldn't know. I don't care enough to know which is why I didn't ask.

I'm not arguing the merits of his case, just that he seems like a pompous dick, which he's proven on more than one occasion in his short time here...

I didn't know you liked Foucault.

Not gonna lie, this rejection by the lovers of mid-2000s indie - i.e. the crowd I so diligently courted since joining MB - stings.

Seriously though, the one person on here I would be sad if they hated me is Marie, not cause she’s the mod but cause she seems the type of kind, geekily cool person who would really get along with me at first and then, upon learning that I just may be a kind of a dick, would be disappointed and barely acknowledge me at the cafeteria.

Yes, we're the worst. How dare we like stuff. But I do love you're in a thread about the decline of music, ****ting on us for liking music from 10 years ago, and you started this thread:

Stravinsky died in '71, brother. And his death hasn't improved his music.
