An allegedly drunk Chrissie Hynde physically attacked Carly Simon at a Joni Mitchell club performance at The Fez in NYC in 1995. The story was subsequently minimized in the press, but a friend of mine (who was Natalie Merchant's guitarist at the time) who attended the show said it was true and actually a bit worse than reported - with Chrissie grabbing Carly around the neck, pummeling her to the floor and shouting, "That's a REAL artist up there!" (referring to Joni)

Someone on here being friends with Jennifer Turner is far more interesting than any number of drunken brawls. What other gossip does she have? Has she ever met Bowie or Robert Smith or Tom Waits or Bjork?

Not as far as I know. The only reason I could let the Chrissie/Carly cat-fight out of the bag is because Jennifer was actually interviewed about it on the release of Furslide's Adventure, so it's a matter of public record lol. Jennifer's a really sweet person, a killer guitarist and a massive Joni Mitchell fan!

I'm absolutely sure she's one of the sweetest people on the planet too. lol Thanks for the clarification ribbons. Good to see you!

I think she'd be genuinely pleased to learn that you respect her playing - after all, you certainly know your way around a guitar and have beautiful phrasing as well.

And thanks as always for your sweet comments. Fun thread!

Moriaki Wakabayashi of Les Rallizes Denudes hijacked Japan Airlines Flight 351 with samurai swords and explosives along with other Japanese Red Army members. Some other members of the band were invited but declined.

Thank you kindly. I'm surprised a thread like this wasn't already made with all the history revolving around the music industry. A huge example would be Fleetwood Mac.
