Journey a lot at once...
Journey Artistfacts for more detailed info...

As a teenager, Schon turned down an opportunity to join Eric Clapton's band Derek and the Dominos. He did later join Santana.
Smith's drumming has broadened over the years partially due to his involvement in the jazz group Vital Information.

Schon is the founder of Schon Guitars, which markets and sells instruments he designed himself. They are manufactured by Jackson.
Dunbar played with Jeff Beck, John Mayall, Lou Reed and David Bowie before Journey. He would later join Jefferson Starship.
Perry's band Alien Project was almost signed to CBS Records in 1978, but then their bass player was killed in a car crash. For Perry, this led to landing the vocalist spot in Journey.

Schon met Rolie while they were both members of Santana. Between their times in the two bands, Schon played with others in the San Francisco area, while Rolie opened a restaurant with his father in Seattle.

When the group formed, they held a contest on the San Francisco radio station KSAN-FM to come up with the name of the band, the winner getting tickets for life to their shows. The names terrible - stuff like Rumpled Foreskin and The Mound Pounders. John Villanueva, who worked in the band's management, came up with the name Journey, and they created a fake winner for the contest, an imaginary listener named Toby Pratt.

According to Jonathan Cain, Steve Perry brought a Bible into the studio when they recorded their last album with Perry, Trial By Fire (1996). Cain later found religion and married the renown megachurch preacher Paula White in 2015. "This really opened my eyes," Cain said of Perry's affirmation of faith. "I was still in the wilderness, but God was planting seeds in me."

I remember Goofle saying many moons ago that dalek and Moodie Black were both members in the early days of musicbanter.

I just learned that the same guy that sang "Long cool woman" by the Hollies (Allan Clarke) also sang "Breakdown" by Alan Parsons. Seems kind of obvious now.

Marie, you may appreciate (and probably already know) that the errant tampon was thrown back at the stage and landed on one of Nick Cave's band's speaker cabinets, remaining there during Cave's entire set.
I heard the hospital gown was given to a fan by Courtney Love after Kurt's death. Probably a big $ collector's item by now. I wonder if anyone still has the wheelchair?

Accidentally meeting the tampon-tosser a few days later, was also an unexpected surprise. I was in Bayswater, washing some clothes at a launderette, and went into a nearby corner shop to get a newspaper to read while my clothes were being cleaned. I paid for my paper, turned to leave, and came face to face with Donita Sparks and Suzi Gardner. They asked the clerk if he had the latest issue of "Lime Lizard" for sale and he told them "no." I told them that there was a newsagent across the street and around the corner which had just about any newspaper or magazine available and if anyone would have it he would. I walked out of the shop with them and showed them where the newsagent was located and they thanked me and headed over there while I went back to retrieve my laundry.

A couple of hours later, I went over to that same newsagent to satisfy my curiosity about "Lime Lizard" (which I assumed was a music magazine), found the latest issue on the shelf and saw Donita Sparks, Suzi Gardner, Jennifer Finch, and Demetra Plakas on the cover. I ended up buying the copy and still have it in my music collection.

The albums that sell millions of copies are few and far between. According to the IFPI (International Federation of the Phonographic Industry), 80% of albums sell less than 100 copies, while 94% of albums have less than 1,000 copies sold.

Talking

Prince was actually an excellent basketball player.

According to a basketball coach, Prince was clever, quick on his feet and played like a natural leader while on the court. The only thing that let him down was his height.

Charlie Murphy (Eddie Murphy's brother) confirms this to be true.
