Well we're Boston so:

Aerosmith
The Cars
Mighty Mighty Bosstones
Dropkick Murphy
The band Boston
Pixies
Mission to Burma
The Lemonheads
Jude
New Edition
Rob Zombie
Powerman 5000
Big Wreck ('That Song' still depresses me)
The Breeders
Street Dogs
Dresden Dolls
Letters to Cleo

But also we invented America so you're welcome for everything.

Big Wreck is great. 'Ghosts' and 'Wolves' are really good tunes, but haven't listened to much beyond that.

The Breeders are arguably from Dayton, Ohio though. Or at least the Deal twins are

Massachusetts has far too many to list in addition to the aforementioned, but these two are at the top of my list of personal favorite rock groups from the area...

The Modern Lovers - The Modern Lovers

The 2x4s - Bridgeport Lathe
