Default Classic Album Wars!

Not just albums you consider classics: the basic criterion is that they must be at least known of, if not respected, outside of their own genre. Ideally it should be two albums from the same or at least similar genre, so no Thriller vs Ace of Spades, for instance. Other than that, all genres acceptable.

Basic and simple rule: once one album pulls ahead by five votes relative to the other, it's declared the winner and a new battle has to be set. Only one battle at a time, so don't all rush at once.

I said, don't all rush at once.

Um.

Anyone want to start?

Anyone...?

Really? My god, they don't get more classic than that.

Forever Changes.

Odessey and Oracle is good but not a mind-blower to me like Forever Changes is.

I love Odessey and Oracle obviously, but, yeah, I have to go with Forever Changes too.

That's an interesting choice, rs, and a good start to this thread.

Zombies: their sound was so tied up with Colin Blunstone's voice that I feel it limited what they could ever do as a group; everything was a variation of a smooth, spooky mood, and although Time of the Season is good, most of this album suffers for that reason imo. Nice sound, but short tracks that are somehow both unnecessarily complicated and inconsequential at the same time.

Love: in comparison, Forever Changes sounds so clear and fresh. The excellent songwriting and the uncluttered instrumentation make this the easy winner for me.

Accumulating Vote:
Forever Changes: 5
Odessy And Oracle:0

So that's a win for Forever Changes by my reckoning. ("Sometimes I deal in numbers....")
