New Thursday

You can stream the whole album from their myspace. I'll probably rip it or have a friend rip it sometime today, and i'll get the link up if people are interested.

btw...i'm listening to it as we speak...haven't heard the converge collabo yet. Did they end up not doing it?

sleepy jack 04-18-2006 06:27 PM

I hope they didn't ditch collabrating with converge, anyway it sounds hella good so far.

IamAlejo 04-18-2006 07:05 PM

I have it ripped to mp3s.

And I don't hear any colloabo with converge. but i could be missing it i guess.

Expletive Deleted 04-18-2006 07:54 PM

Not that bad. Better than anything else they've done.

IamAlejo 04-18-2006 08:11 PM

Besides Full Collapse I think it's one of their best CD's. Went in with low expectations but I guess that makes it better. Y'all can IM me if you want it, it's too big for the new yousendit.

Do it before we drown 04-29-2006 06:03 PM

theyr' in teh process of the converge song, it also has pieces from The Dillinger Escape Plan, the Blood Brothers, etc. They recorded a basic song and tabbed it out and todl the bands to write their own pieces to it and send it back, but it didn't get done in time for A City... so they're just releasing it when it gets done...should be amazing.

But what I've heard of the new album rocks, im trying to restrain myself from streaming the album, although I do already have Counting 5-4-3-2-1 as my ringtone. ha.

ArtistInTheAmbulance 05-15-2006 11:09 AM

so, im a wee bit slow & only just bought it today.
but , i was refusing to just download it , there are certain bands i insist upon paying for.
and anyway, after only hearing it about three times, i absolutely love it, and so far telegraph avenue kiss & at this velocity have stuck with me best.
...yeah.
go buy it.
those of you who are actually slower than me.

PerFeCTioNThrUSileNCe 05-15-2006 11:31 AM

^Wanna send it to me over aim???:D:D:D

ithinkmybabyisacommunist 05-15-2006 06:52 PM

yes i like "old"thursday

sleepy jack 05-16-2006 05:45 PM

Nate, if you haven't got it yet, I can get a link or if anyone else needs it.

PerFeCTioNThrUSileNCe 05-16-2006 09:04 PM

AITA sent it to me.

It's alright, not what I was expecting, but its not disappointing. I think my favorite song is "At this Velocity." Pretty solid track, and album. I give it an 8/10

sleepy jack 05-16-2006 10:58 PM

I like the album quite a bit after listening to it a few times through. The Lovesong Writer and Autumn Leaves Revisited are the only songs I really like, the albums kind of disappointing. But that could do with the fact I have a killer headache right now..=/

yesss.. they're my favoritessss

xEmochicKx 05-20-2006 10:56 PM

Yeah i didnt wanna hear it at all before i bought it or burn it off someplace cause theyre my favourite band and id much rather pay for their cd. But actually i was a little bit dissapointed... i think it comes in third place of all their albums so far. But i really really like running from the rain :o:

Kripes 06-26-2006 02:45 PM

This is a really great CD. The first half was really easy to get into and the latter half grew on me. 4/5

Raine 06-26-2006 02:50 PM

um . . .
out of curiosity, what's the name of the CD

And Thursday's pretty good. I'd buy any of their albums. Just because. they rock.
Signals over the Air and Paris in Flames are still two of my favorite songs ever.

I love this band. I'd worship them if I didn't think that would be so cheesy and overrated.

.angie. 06-26-2006 02:51 PM

A City By The Light Divided

I really like it.
*shrugsI

swim 06-26-2006 02:53 PM

Not the typical band I listen to but they make good albums. I like the new one it's pretty good.

Intermission 06-27-2006 08:56 PM

I got it a couple of weeks ago, I seriously dont like is as much as I expected to

acratertocoffin 04-14-2008 03:21 PM

This is hardly the thread, but I'm not about to make a new one.

I have an upcoming interview with Thursday if anyone has any questions they want answered, leave em.

CAPTAIN CAVEMAN 04-14-2008 05:16 PM

how did you brainwash ctts

Rubber 04-14-2008 05:40 PM

CAPTAIN CAVEMAN 04-14-2008 05:52 PM

CircleTakesTheSquare
they were just suckin their ****s a bunch when they got on tour with them

"THURSDAY TOUR ANNOUNCEMENT!
September 14, 2007

Hey everybody, Circle will be hitting the road again in late october for a month long excursion that will have us meeting up with Thursday for a handful of shows across the whole U.S. The Thursday dates are posted in the tour section, but please check back as we fill some of the other dates we'll be playing around the Thursday tour."

acratertocoffin 04-14-2008 05:56 PM

It looks to me like they were taking advantage of fantastic publicity. As long as they don't change their sound to pop, I don't really see it as brainwashing.

Really excited about that.

sleepy jack 04-14-2008 05:57 PM

Ask Geoff Rickley if he'd adopt me.

CAPTAIN CAVEMAN 04-14-2008 05:58 PM

yeah, i was just kidding around

CaptainSuck 04-14-2008 06:30 PM

For whatever reason, I actually liked Full Collapse, but never bothered to check out anything else they'd done. Is their first album worthwhile?

bardonodude 04-14-2008 06:46 PM

their first album is really good, thats the only stuff I used to like by them when I first started listening to them. Ian Curtis is prolly my favorite song.

ask them how they started out compared to how they are now. Like when they started out, how long did it take them to gain popularity and ask when they made the transition from playing basement shows to playing venues and how they caught their big break and all of that. Ask them who they went on tour with for their first tour and for how long. Ask them if they still talk to people form saetia and you & I and such.

xcult_classicx 04-14-2008 07:37 PM

i liked all of their stuff up to War All The Time. i wonder what the Envy split would sound like

kevinpunx 04-14-2008 08:12 PM

I'm stuck with "Waiting".

imagine their song running in the rain in a much slower, as in SLOOOWER tempo.

acratertocoffin 04-21-2008 04:48 PM

I just did the interview with Geoff. He was a really nice guy. The interview flowed really well and should be up in a little while.
