Oh believe me I'm a huge indie fan as well, and very much into psychedelic rock and shoegaze. You'll definitely expand your horizon here on MB.

I actually listen to a bit of everything, here's my list I have compiled

(* means one of my top five)

*The Doors
*SOAD
*Yeah Yeah Yeahs
*Jimi Hendrix
*Nirvana
The Velvet Underground
Led Zeppelin
Bob Marley
The Killers
Beck
Peter Tosh
Steel Pulse
Scarface
Ill Bill
Serj Tankian
Paramore (I know, I am ashamed as well, but I haven't listened to them lately)
Howlin Wolf
Jefferson Airplane
Cream
The Beatles (Rubber Soul and onward)
Slayer (only occasionally though)
Rage Against the Machine
Primus
