happy? where have YOU been? he talks about death and babies drowning in bath tubs, thats hardly happy if you ask me. do your research.

Bright Eyes is good, but its really a you love it or you hate it kind of thing. theres not really any gray area.
and its a one person project btw.

sleepy jack 07-26-2006 01:54 PM

It really depends on which song, listen to True Blue or Bowl Of Oranges and tell me it isn't happy. =/

And theres two people, Conor said so himself. Him and Mike Mogis.

I'm sorry, black metal.
& why does bright eyes suck?

tdoc210 07-26-2006 02:58 PM

Because, It's boring, and repeats it's self...I just don't like it, sorry.

Ps I hardly lsiten to black emtal anymore, besides Burzum, and Mayhem. I couldn't understand the vocals on the other cds I checked out :(.

Not really, I don't know how you could listen to a song off of im wide awake its morning, then put on something off of like, fevers and mirrors. Then say it repeats itself, because the majority of their albums are nothing like. Hell, for the most part stuff on one album is nothing alike and, I don't see how much music could bore you seeing as you listen to sunn 0)))

tdoc210 07-26-2006 03:03 PM

^ Bah it's just my opinion.

right-track 08-01-2006 03:04 PM

Ethan has forced me to listen to a Bright Eyes compilation.

I like it...lots. :)

However, I am now thoroughly depressed and verging on the suicidal. ;)

sleepy jack 08-17-2006 07:56 PM

Yeah I know, I have quite a few of them also but it would be nice to have like, the whole thing. I wish they'd put out an actual new album..=/

_Spinning_ 08-17-2006 07:58 PM

As do I. But I think it's just Saddle Creek trying to make some more money, personally.

Hopefully a new one should be on it's way soon.

I don't know about that, like it took me forever to track down most of that stuff, some of it I can't even find. If I didn't have the internet, i'd find that noise floor hella great to have.

True.
But if I didn't have the internet, I never would have heard of them. It's not the kind of music to release over here. All the Scenesters will flame it until someone bans it for Political reasons.

But I agree, I can't find some also...but I have probably a good 60% and will still get the album when it comes out because I want to own them all. You know what I mean, I am sure.

swim 08-17-2006 09:59 PM

I like releases like these because there would be no way I'd get my hands on those songs if it wasn't for this being released. And I don't think releasing rare songs is "what's wrong with labels". Of course they want to make money but, I just think the point was to make less accessible stuff easier to get.

jonmarshall 09-13-2006 03:27 PM

he is certainly original is his words and arrangements which is nice

partypeep05476 09-17-2006 10:20 AM

i LOVE Bright Eyes!! definitely a good pick.... my favorite song by them is Waste Of Paint, and "lover i don't have to love" definitely another good song.

The Dave 09-22-2006 07:22 AM

Best Bright Eyes albums

I'm looking into getting about two Bright Eyes albums off of Interpunk (they owe me money since they ran out of Tiger And The Duke), so i'm just wondering what you all would consider to be your two favorite albums by Bright Eyes.

sleepy jack 09-22-2006 11:42 AM

Fevers and Mirrors and Lifted Or The Story Is In The Soil Keep Your Ear To The Ground.

swim 09-22-2006 01:34 PM

sleepy jack 09-23-2006 12:25 PM

Digital Ash is sexyiful.

Which makes me feel all tingly in my pants.
Anyways, I may up his entire discrography over the next few days, if people will promise to download it.

My.Heart.Your.Hands 09-23-2006 12:27 PM

I ordered Fevers and Mirrors and Lifted, i'll download the others later tonight.

either/or 09-25-2006 08:37 AM

i like all but i recommend not buying motion sickness. it just didnt seem worth the 30 dollars. but the booklet is nice and fat, which is cool. plus those ****ers at jb hifi gave me a version with a cracked case, but thats kinda irrelevant to the topic.
goodnight.

Laces Out Dan! 09-25-2006 11:49 AM

ive got 2 more to download

TheBig3 09-25-2006 11:58 AM

This is going to sound wicked smartassy but its deadly honest. Does he have an album where he isn't a self-indulgent ****? Is there a BE album where he doesn't try to sound like a whiney little bitch-boy so girls will want to **** him?

I mean, he can turn out tracks that I think are great, then he does **** like the radio interview on (I think) fevers and mirrors and I think "Man i hope this dude eats it".

I have lifted, its alright but to me the tape in the car **** is all just filler for artsy purposes. He is on the opposite spectrum of art music from say tool, and it least tool have a direction with their art, not just some trendy hipster passsing fad.

The interview on Fever and Mirrors is hilarious...he fucks with the guy soo much.
