I agree with you, I never said he was the one who gave himself this title. Its just pathetic how poor music journalism has gotten. You would think the Newyorker of all magazines would be able to find a better represntation of our generations Dylan than f-n bright eyes. Its just kind of pathetic what lots of music journalism will publish today. Rolling stone has turned into a magazine with a political core, new yorkers music section is shotty at best when it comes to anything outside jazz or the like, blender is obsessed with the T and a and not the music. Spin has been doing a pretty good job though. I think there one of my favorite music mags out there. Or he handful of cool punk zines i.e. Profane Existence, slug and lettuce, suburban blight. Magazines written by people who know and love the music and bands. but I do blame Conner Oberst for having such a bad band.
