okay, the comparisons to Bob Dylan and Billy Bragg are ridiculous,a nd this is coming from a fan of Bright Eyes, i think that Dylan had a massive influence over music at that time that Conor will never achieve. and comparing the two is a bit wanky, theyr very different. but all this stereotyping of the type of people who listen to his music, i know plenty of guys who are bright eyes fans. and yes, he is melodramatic,a nd he tends to be on the whiney side, but you cannot deny that he is a brilliant songwriter lyrically.

I have a couple lying around, they wouldn't say Conor's a genius but they certainly appreciate them. Whats the big deal about comparing him to Bob Dylan anyway? Bob Dylan's a little overrated as well, not all his material is amazing, some of it is pretty dull.

Has it suddenly become trendy to like Bright Eyes? I just saw a newspaper article last week about them too, first one I've ever seen.

It's just lazy journalism. Like the Libertines are the new Clash, Adriano is the new Pele, Zane Lowe is the new, crap version of John Peel. Bright Eyes are/is the new Bob Dylan.

They're Indie. Not Emo, they're not my style of music. I don't think they're very good Indie singers but you can't say that they shouldn't be compared to Bob Dylan. That says NOTHING. You can compare anyone to anyone. Like... you could say that they were saying he was like Bob Dylan but you didn't. You just said how can you compare them to Bob Dylan. Stupid Emo forums... I'm going back to the punk one. Bye.
