not really no, they're more anarcho and thrash (specially later stuff), but i think they generally share the same energy and occasional tongue in cheek vantage points of psychobilly bands. Theyre far too political and grounded in hardcore punk to be considered psychobilly though.

A good band ive been listening to lately is Alien Sex Fiend, very much in the same vein as the cramps with splatterings of the Birthday Party

Alien Sex Fiend are legendary but I don't think you can pigeonhole them into any particular genre. Have you seen the Edit Overdose DVD? Their live shows are legendary for their wackiness.

True dat, but i think there is a case for their inclusion in this thread, i know every album they bring out is different and they've gone from psychobilly to heavy industrial to electronic, but their psychobilly stuff is ****ing great. No i havent, is it highly recommended?

Well it is certainly a 'unique' experience but it's a must if you are a fan. They used to make the stage props themselves, real D.I.Y stuff. I agree that they merit a mention in this thread, I guess I should have stated that they don't just do Psychobilly. Nice to hear them mentioned though.

I don't, but if anyone else does I wouldn't exactly mind a link myself.

I like a lot of what I've heard of psychobilly. My personal favourites are pretty cliche though - the Meteors, Reverand Horton Heat and 80s Matchbox. Some of the Fall's earlier work sounds (to these ears) reminiscent of psychobilly too, especially tracks like this one, so they'd count in a vague sort of way I suppose.

I'll up my search and sort you out if i have any luck.

80's Matchbox to me arent cliche, their first album has heavy psychobilly influences but Royal Society and In The Garden EP represent prgressions in sound that moves them into the realms of thrash and punk, theres a strong psychedelic undertone to their stuff too.

I think I missed out on the whole psychobilly thing.

I remember growing up and seeing all the older kids wearing meteors & alien sex fiend shirts but I never really heard much of it.

I should do something about that.

Alien Sex Fiend really only have a handful of songs that I'd consider psychobilly but I'd be happy to hook you up if you're interested.

I have an alien sex fiend compilation album but that's pretty much all I have.

I wouldn't mind some meteors or king kurt , if you're offering ;)
