I have to say I disagree with this. I wouldn't call Its Blitz more mainstream, just different. Normally, Nick Zinner would be on guitar moreso than on this record. I think YYY took a risk with this record, but in the end, they have proven that it is one worth taking. They have mostly left their art-punk in the dust for the new record, but that doesnt make it worse. Softshock is by far my favorite song on the record, also.

I love this album and I admire the YYY's for stepping out of their comfort zone I agree with alot of you I prefer their "Fever To Tell" screaming-craziness but nothing lasts forever does it so this is why I took "It's Blitz!" as it is and enjoy it because you never know how much you might miss something until it's gone.
My favourite tracks off the album are:
"Heads Will Roll" - mainstream or not this was amazing live.
"Hysteric" - A really beautiful song.
"Dull Life" - Old School YYY's

The performance on Jimmy Fallon the other day was awesome.

Fever to Tell was the best. I'm kinda liking the new song "Zero" though.

I think It's Blitz is definitely a lot different and disappointing in some ways but there are some tracks on there that are just terrific, like "Soft Shock" and "Zero"

if there are any really big fans of the Yeah yeah yeahs you should look around for the KO at home recordings. i found them after some searching on mega upload and its pretty cool.
they are recordings that Karen O did for a guy from tv on the radio they got stolen and put online and passed around. its mostly just here doing cool stuff with an acoustic and singing but there's also some harmonica and other stuff in there.

That actually sounds fairly cool. Shes got one of the best three voices in rock right now, though I can't imagine how it sounds with harmonica.

You mean that guy from TVOTR (David Sitek) who produced all of the YYY's music?
Anyway, yeah, as a fan of KO's voice that sounds highly interesting to me.
