I heard the new EP "IS IS" at Newbury the other day and I have to say that songs 2-5 are probably the best value I've ever had on music. The first track leaves a little to be desired especially when compared to the other four tracks. but the (title track?) "isis" might be the best thing I've heard all year. Do yourselves a favor, pick it up.

I love the YYY's. Fever to Tell owned.

5 songs, 1 thats decent, 4 that are amazing and it was 6 bucks. Thats pretty damned good in my opinion. Im saying if you're going to spend money on music, don't blow it on something thats crap. Grab this EP.

6 bucks?? That's great for a fairly popular band. I'm pretty excited about checking it out now. However, Prince trumps them with the value thing.

I dunno, I downloaded it based on your suggestion, but none of the songs come close to anything on Show your bones...this is based on one listen, but still...I love the music, but the vocals somehow don't go anywhere...

Try it again, I really can't say enough good things.

I think it's the fact that these songs are basically pre-SYB, I'm not sure why they decided to release them now, their sound has moved on a tad. This seems like a step backward. It's not bad, Down boy is quite good, but it has an overall Fever to tell B-side feel to it.

Quite nice! I like the synths but i hope the whole album isn't like this, the main attraction of the YYY's to me is Nick Zinner's guitar.

That sounds like its from the killers. And I think if Brandon Flowers sang that, it would saound better.

This is not the YYY's I know and love. Is Is was so good...why this? =(

I wish they would have stuck with the overall sound of Isis for this album. It was a happy medium between Fever to Tell and Show Your Bones. "Isis" (the song) is probably one of the best things they've done to date! Karen's growls and Nick's swirling guitar riffs are phenomenal on that track!

Hopefully "Zero" isn't a complete indication of the overall sound of this next record.

I liked their debut, even if it tries my patience in places. I never really bothered to keep following them after that though. The new song sounds decent enough - kudos to them for trying something new, however successful it does or doesn't turn out to be.

It's also made me rediscover Is Is which I didn't pay much attention to when it came out. Down boy and 10x10 are some bitchin' tunes...

Shame it only lasted one EP.

I think show your bones and isis are the better of the outputs. I didn't care too much for the first album save for "date with the night." And this new track sounds awful.

Might give them a spin.

Karin O is a big inspiration to me! She is so cool! :D

She has a fantastic voice. That much I'll say. The band's music isn't all bad either. That EP from 2007 which consisted of a few old tracks - what was is called - ah yes, Is Is. Superb. Loved it. Short and to the point. Never realy bothered with the albums though. Probably worth a shot.

I think Show Your Bones is a great album but the polished sound may have lost them a few fans when compared to the more abrasive debut. I still need to hear Is Is sometime too.

New Album isn't bad. Nothing special, however.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs are cool. I'm liking what I'm hearing but don't have an album yet.

I have heard a few good things (and a few bad things) about this band, without having listened to them at all. Look forward to giving the new album a spin.

There new album is a lot more mainstream.
