It is. I would say Dusk sounds like "The White Album" and Black Foliage is like a dark version of "Smile". I got Black Foliage first, and I found it took me much longer to get into than "Dusk" which I liked from the first time I played it.

Probably my favorite band at the moment. I think I was introduced to them by a member here in fact, via a mixtape sent to me a couple of years ago (most likely it was from Molecules, that brilliant bastard). But yeah, I'm a big fan of the entire Elephant 6 scene, but I've never quite understood why NMH got more of a following than OTC. I've got links if anyone wants them, seriously worth a listen.

probably my second fave Elephant 6 band after Of Montreal

both Dusk At Cubist's Castle and Black Foliage are immense

i also have Circulatory System but haven't heard it yet

I'm seeing them live at ATP in a month, should be rather great!

I like them a lot, by far my favourite 'Elephant 6' band. Two long, quirky, diverse albums. Great, great band.

Definately my favourite sonf by them. It's a pretty special moment when the horns come in on the intro.

Honestly, this year's ATP looks like the best line-up I've ever seen the event muster, I'm not even going to attempt to hide my envy.

OTC are great, I'd place them on a par with NMH and The Apples in Stereo. Circulatory System are not far behind.
