Why? The songwriting is leagues better in Death Cab imo. Chris Walla is the true centerpiece of Death Cab, much more important to the band than Gibbard, I don't think the comparisons between the two are warranted, the lyrics and music are both completely different, the only common theme is the vocals.

I find the songwriting in Death Cab to be a bit boring, it's like they're trying too hard to write intelligent and they just come out bland and over done IMO. Postal Service is nothing groundbreaking or fantastic, but they are a refreshing sound that I enjoy.

Narrow Stairs was tops in my opinion.

How are their first two albums overdone in any way whatsoever? Granted, I could understand that complaint with Transatlanticism or Plans, although I don't agree, but how are songs like a Lack Of Color, Champagne From a Paper Cup, 405 etc bland or overdone?

Their only album I really liked was transatlantacism, and it was different.

And Chris Walla produced and played on Give Up...although I agree they are different.

I'll admit I've never listened to the first two and haven't given much time to The Photo Album so maybe you're right. But from Transatlanticism on, I stand by what I said. I'll have to give the first two a listen though.

Really? Well, like you said, they still sound nothing alike.

Listening to Plans, there are a FEW good moments.
