Right. I don't think the music was made to fit into any current trends (like, for example, The Black Kids). It's very different. But it's still trendy in the sense that it's popular. I agree with you though, despite my distaste for it, it was reasonably unique to hear.

Fleet Foxes is one of those *shrug* groups for me (at-least after listening through their EP and buying the S/T at my local Starbucks three months ago). Pretty at times, but far from jaw-dropping compared to groups in the past who did the acoustic guitar/layered vocal harmonizing schtick.
