I have just listened to an entire album called METALS and I find that is really good: great voice, great songwriting. I appreciate it ![]() Now I will try with Yeah Yeah Yeah .... |

Lykke Li is a favorite of mine. Not quite the same as the above mentioned, but i really enjoy her stuff. I recently saw her on ACL with Florence and the Machine.
Regina Spektor maybe. Ellie Goulding seems to be making a big splash but I haven't really listened to her. Phantogram, I know not on the same page as the above at all, but if you haven't checked them out they are worth a listen. two of my fav's: "Mouthful of Diamonds" and "When I'm small." |

to all of you that are givin me precious suggestions for female musicians/singers.
![]() I am savin on a list all the names and I really wanna listen carefully to all of them little by little. Please keep on suggest, I have time and passion ![]() I like Lana Del Rey, too. Saw her adverts on music mags and listened to Born to Die and like it. Do you think she's authentic, sincere or just a market artificial creation? |

I don't know much about Lana Del ray, but from what I have heard I like.
As for her being authentic, it looks like she has paid her dues, so to speak, in the club scene. So that's something, for me. other than that I couldn't say. Another band you should check out, Best Coast. To me they are what California sounds like. The lyrics and music are well, sloppy, but it works. The album Crazy for You is the best. I haven't really listened to much off the new one, The Only Place. Frankly, I just can't get into it. But add them to the list ![]() |

Best Coast are definitely worth checking out to the poster above. I've seen them live before too and I was impressed.
With this being a predominantly US-based forum, do people know much about The Head & The Heart? Stumbled across them a couple of weeks back but based on their Youtube videos, they're relatively well known already. Thoughts? I really like - The Head and the Heart "Down In The Valley" - AllSaints Basement Sessions - YouTube and also found another video on the same session below The Head and the Heart "Ghosts" - AllSaints Basement Sessions - YouTube Are they popular/getting recognition? |

The Head and the Heart are from the pacific northwest and have the folk thing going on. "Ghosts" is the only song I really like, and that's due to the piano. Other than that, my knowledge of them is nil. But I have heard of them, so that's something. I love pretty much every indie/pop band that comes out of the UK ![]() Check out these guys, they are from the same area as The Head and The Heart, and I am really into them. I've seen them live twice; if you ever have the chance, go see them.
