Default Recommend an Indie/Alternative band thread.

Since there are "recommend a band" threads in the other topics, i thought we needed one for this section of the board. I did a search and couldn't find one, however if there is already one, feel free to close this thread.
So, if there isn't one already, let's make this the place to post for Indie/Alternative band recommendations.

I'll start.
The bands i like are;

-Muse
-Radiohead
-The Killers
-Kaiser Chiefs
-Biffy Clyro
-Cut off your Hands
I know these are mainstream bands, but I call bands like CoyH, Biffy, Radiohead and Muse 'sub-mainstream'. So i'm looking for some indie/alternative/"sub-mainstream" bands

Any recomendations?

I thought you hated the Arctic Monkeys... weird. Phoenix are good though.

Animal Collective, Guided By Voices, and The Shins are all considered indie. Perhaps you want to check them out.

lol yeah I do, " 'cause they scream and bang their instruments," but that doesn't stop me from recommending them.

If you've never heard Andrew Bird, I suggest you jump on that train immediately. Seriously. He is a goddamn evil genius.

This thread gets heavy traffic from all members of the forum and incorporates all the different genres. We don't need two threads like this running around, use the one that's been around for years.
