Sparklehorse is a good bet...but I really think it depends on what you liked most about Yo La Tengo...they have covered a variety of styles.

Yeah Camera Obscura are my second most played artist. I can't get enough of them.
But as far as Yo La Tengo, I love everything they have done. I'll check out Sparklehorse though. Is Stereolab similar to Yo La Tengo? I ask because I saw them in your recent top artists. |

Anything similar to the brand of indie rock that Superchunk and The Thermals play would be appreciated...

sterolab are nice/happy/french style of yo la tengo... more lush than guitars.
Galaxie 500, Sparklehorse, Grandaddy are all great - grandaddy being one of my fav bans ever - check them out! yo la tengo do indeed cover quite a few styles, from sonic youth type guitar music, to Low type slow songs to camera obscura twee.... ![]() ![]() |

hey guys, i used to listen to a lot of this stuff but seemed to have lost my way. I really like arctic monkeys, franz ferdinand, the strokes, older razorlight. Any recommendations are welcome. The only thing i don't like are singers with high or super low voices. I've been reading up and want to experience some of the older, purer stuff. Thanks

I've only been exposed to bands like arctic monkeys, franz ferdinand, the kooks and the strokes. I like those bands a lot, but from what I've read on the forum there's a lot more to learn. I'm not a fan of the folk-ish songs, conceptual and slow, or hard rock. The farthest away I've gone and still liked is Kasabaian. So, who influenced these bands? Anyone I should look for? Thanks

I'm trying to get into Beck. (I think alternative is the right place for him, but it's hard to tell.)
I've heard Midnight Virtues and Odelay, I'm just wondering what his 5 best albums are. First being the best 5th being the 5th best. If anyone could give me any insight I'd appreciate it. ![]() |
