Maybe individual artist threads would be more helpful if you're also asking about a particular artist, rather than a general recommendation?

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

Wanted to pitch in with Electrelane. Not often heard, but The Power Out is a very good piece. It's kinda shoegazey and weird, but well worth the listen. Reminds me of Blonde Redhead a bit, along with some other stuff.

Generally interesting:

Jesus can someone rename the titles of all these recommendation threads to "recommendation REQUESTS"? They're always getting flooded with unsolicited recos.

Start a thread about the band (if there isn't one already) if you want to express your interest in them - unless you're replying to someone's request.

Default Album suggestions?

I just wanted to know if anybody knew any albums that sound similar to these albums.

Is This Desire? by PJ Harvey
In Rainbows and Ok Computer by Radiohead
Vespertine by Bjork
Dear Science by TV on the Radio
Odelay by Beck

I would suggest to anyone to listen to Shearwater and Fleet Foxes. They are wonderful bands with complex compositions and great lyrics. Almost every song on the Fleet Foxes's debut album is great. "Rook" a great album for Shearwater, too.
