Thank you for your suggestion, but I don't see what's so great about it. I can see where why Dotoar believes indie is a real genre and has an "indie sound" because this definitely sounds like a typical indie band. Sorry if this sounds a bit mean because it's not my intention. I really do appreciate the suggestion though (considering you're the only one who responded to my post).

Don't knock it Sidewinder. I joined his forum hoping to discover new and interesting bands and this thread has led me to bands that I had never heard of before including Shearwater, an unsolicited offer. I know it's not how the thread was meant to work but it works for me.

Shearwater is great, and their album, Rooks, is fantastic. Also, if you like them check out Okkervil River.



EDIT: Some people think Okkervil River is better, but I have to disagree - Shearwater has a much more varied sound than Okkervil does.

Wowz. Sebadoh are the creme de la creme when it comes to 90s Indie. Each to their own though.

For hiking, biking, skiing, or driving I like some of the jams from North of 90 - a garage band (indie) from Alaska.

Eh, I love Dinosaur Jr. and didn't really care for Bakesale either. The cream of the crop from 90s indie for me are Slanted & Enchanted, Lonesome Crowded West, and Keep It Like A Secret...
