The Bravery vs. Kaiser Chiefs
Since Bloc Party don't look like they're gonna blow up into the mainstream this year as promised, I think Kaiser Chiefs and The Bravery will be this years Franz and Killers. But which will be bigger? Or are they both completely ****. Discuss. Also feel free to use this as a thread to debate which of the two have the highest accumalitive penis size.

The Bravery.
Kaiser Chiefs suck so much. Really really really really bad..... They're just Franz Ferdinand but slightly different. Why anyone would choose to sound like Franz is beyond me though  |
I know this may damage our already shaky relationship, my love, but I think The Kaisere sound feck all llike Franz. There much poppier and less serious than Franz, but I would have to agree with The Bravery vote. Anyone heard the album- it's free on the NME... check it out it's extremely good I think, on first impressions.
|
That "already shaky" made us sound like a couple going through a mid-life crisis... Aw you know I love ya really :) But the Kaisers do sound a lot like Franz, just with a new twist. Im sure other people agree with me? *Waits for noone to agree*
|
Well i`ve heard 2 Kaiser Chiefs songs & neither sounded like the other so i`m not sure what to expect on the album.
I quite like the Bravery , i`ve seen them being slagged off by the music press for being yet another new wave style band but I put that down to them not being the next big Brit thing. |
well, the bravery piss me off so very much. honest mistake is the worst song ive heard all year (no exaggeration) and unconditional was ok for the first couple of listens. the kaiser chiefs on the other hand are really cool in my opinion. oh my god is so catchy its untrue, one of the best choruses ive heard for a while. i predict a riot is also a sweet pop-rock tune. i think AITA is one mind bending drugs or something because they sound NOTHING like franz ferdinand. my vote goes with the kaiser chiefs fa' sur'
|
Got the Kasier Cheifs album today , they sound more like the Jam with synths than Franz Ferdinand to me
|
Well now Ive got both albums in my dirty grimy (pink) mittens, I have to say there both really great, but surprisingly the Kaiser Employment is much more well rounded than The Bravery which has a couple of dodgy tracks, much to my dissatisfaction... Still Unconditional bests any Oh My God or I Predict A Riot on Employment. The Bravery seem to inject more feeling into the songs, and are doing something a bit more original than KCs. Whatever, Im happy to have to really great bands like these.
|
original? their just hanging on to the coat tails of the killers.

THEY SING WITH LESS EMOTION THAN JOHN MCCREA, WHERES THE BASIS????????? |
Ok, I've heard more of the Kaiser Cheifs now, and I'd like to take back my Franz Ferdinand comment... But Im still sticking with the Bravery as the better band. I still hate the Kaisers...
|
they're both getting more and more mainstream...
|
The lyrics and vocals are bordering on emo *SHIVERS* for Dogs sake! Have you not heard Honest Mistake... How can you not see the huge emotional difference between Sam Endicott whining "I just want- I just want love" and Ricky Cant-Remember-His-Surname-Cos-Im-In-A-Fit-Of-Rage barking "I predict a riot- I predict a riot" ? Thats not to put Kaiser Chiefs down, theyre trying to do completely different things.
And stop making the Killers- Bravery comparisons... It's so lazy. Theyre really different, The Bravery don't even have synths. Listen to Hot Fuss, then the Bravery album and you'll see how different they are. Damn! Where'd that bucket of chill pills go? |
i do apologise for immediatly thinking of the killers when i hear the bravery.
|
*Accepts sarcastic apology*
|
I can't stand the Bravery, I don't understand the big hype surrounding them, they're really nothing special, not that The Kaiser Chiefs are, but Oh My God is quite catchy and I'll listen to the Kaiser's if I have to.
|
who is better..no contest!
the bravery ofcourse, i really don't understand the comparison between kaiser chiefs and franz ferdinand...kaiser chiefs r brit rock not new wave and have one great song..i predict a riot others dont come close...
but to move on i downloaded the latest hot hot heat album - elevator and i just couldn't help but to spread the word...EXELENTE..MUY EXELENTE!!! the bravery are awsome..i would say slightly better that the killers cause they have more songs ( they each have one dodgy song in my opinion - the killers the last song and the bravery give in )..but hot hot heat.. not a single weaker song..fantastic...way better then the first one..i also like bloc party franz, the killers the arcade fire, interpol and the kings of leon...i can't belive how much great music im listening to in the last 3 months...i've discovered a new great band or album every week...its been crazy!! |

Think the bravery will be much bigger in my opinion. There a good band, but the lead singer does look like morrissey. no question about it
|
I quite like both, but neither are outstanding or will break into the mainstream like Franz did last year, simply because their albums just aren't that good!
Both have a few good tracks, but as a whole I don't find either album particularly compelling or feel the need to listen to the whole thing through. Probably prefer the Bravery out of the two, they're just a bit different to everything else about at the moment. Their lead singer is a bit of a nob mind. |
i havent heard the kaiser chiefs album, the bravery one is ok, but only a few tracks hit me to be honest.
I actually do find the Kaiser Chiefs a bit annoying at times. |

Both seem okish. I prefer The Bravery from that one song I heard. :)
|
sons and daughters blow them both out of the water at the moment. damn adeles fiiiiiiiine.
|
Woo. Sons and Daughters, what a great band. The song Johnny Cash is great.
I prefer The Bravery to The Kaiser Cheifs, I am unsure why. Maybe it is because i am shallow and think Sam Endicott is better looking that Ricky Wilson. |

i would of thought the bravery had gained recognition in their home nation. yup both huge over here atm.

The Chiefs - all the way, although I think they'll probably aspire to more of an honorary 'Dogs Die In Hot Cars'-hood.
'Oh My God' was on BBC radio6 music's playlist for a few weeks like about 8 months before it's release -I was going mad waiting for a copy of it the whole time . . . =o[ To be honest, haven't heard so much of The Bravery, but not terribly impressed with them so far - reckon they aren't really looking for old crusties like me for fans anyhoo, but I reckon they have quite a bit of catching up to do on Franz F and their charming schoolboy-esque pop theatricality (awwww - bless!) Looking forward to seeing the Kaiser Chiefs at Glastonbury Festival this year - pretty keen to see The Killers there too, seeing as they're on the bill: 'All these things I've done' is like the single most holistically perfect piece of proper rock 'n'roll released for years IMhO, and I can't believe it wasn't a bigger hit than it was - strange, all the other singles released from Hot Fuss are pretty damned good too, but sound so much more like a British indie act than an American outfit. |
the only problem with a lot of these bands at the moment is it all seems pretty generic and samey. i like hot hot heats new album though. very good.

i like the bravery better. they were on some late night show thingy a few nights ago.. then the kaiser chiefs were on some other show last night, i hate them. the lead singer looks like he's having a seizure.
|
^Haha too true... The Kaisers just drive me insane, I cant stick 'em. Sometimes catchy is good, but theyre not good. Really.
|
yeah, plus the kaiser chiefs are ugly.. the lead singer of the bravery has nice hair.
|
i'm a fan of both bands but i think, commercially at least, that the chiefs are more popular. if i hadn't bought Qmag or Uncut i would just have heard of the Bravery. The Chiefs are definately getting more exposure here....
|
Bravery.
