Agree. I am sick of Muse doing the sappy ballad angle. Get back to distorted rock with heavy bass, drop the whine and cheese vocals and let your balls drop again Matt.

Though, seeing how a lot of artists are (for some reason) trying to incorporate dubstep into their music, I have hope that Muse will not give into the fad and stick to what they are known for.
I hope adding dubstep to their sound is not a form of them selling out. As soon as Uprising came out and the mainstream audience chewed it up, muse have been on that "do whatever's necessary to make as much money as possible" train. I REALLY hope their new album is worthwhile

With Muse, I think adding dubstep to their sound could potentially be alright. I just personally wouldn't find it all too listenable. If it's for experimentation and they don't put it on an album after the upcoming one, than I think it's alright. However, if they pull a Linkin Park and completely change their sound, than i'll have a problem with it.

Muse disappoint me really. On the one hand, their music is on a basic level a tendency towards metal, but on the other hand they want to get themselves a popular audience. The trouble then appears to be that they are in the words of a wise man "too pussy to be metal and too metal to be cool".

However this isn't entirely fair: no one can deny they've had quite impressive commercial success and their music is itself unique - it's just every album appears to be a more synthesised version of the last.

It really isn't necessary at all though. Just leave the dubstep out muse, I know they have more originality than that.

I'm more inclined to expect that they'll leave the dubstep out of the equation. Sure they're more commercialized and familiar with the mainstream, but I don't think they'd sell their sound to go THAT mainstream.

I hope not. I understand it's 2012 and Muse knows what the public want, but they also have to treat their fans of their earlier releases with some good tunes as well.

I haven't checked out any singles that they've released. I'm just waiting until the full album is released.

muse are awesome it is sheer musical genius, hullabaloo is their most out there album but one of the of their best by far origin of symetry is also amazing there older stuff is better than their newer more commercial stuff. if you like muse also check out older queens of the stone age stuff.
