Hey guys I'm curious, the only REM albums I don't have are Dead Letter Office, Reckoning, Fables, Around The Sun, Accelerate, and Collapse Into Now.

Out of those, which ones do you think I should pick up first. Which ones are your favorites?

Is Around The Sun really as bad as they say, or does it have at least a few great songs? I've also seen some people LOVE Fables, but I've also seen many that despise it. What's up with that?

Out of those, I'd suggest picking up Reckoning first, especially if you like Murmur. As for Around the Sun, it's okay. Not bad, but not one of my favourites either. I like the song "Leaving New York" though:

Regarding Fables, I love it. They moved in a slightly different direction than with Murmur and Reckoning - there's a more Southern sound to it, I guess they were acknowledging their Georgia roots.

Dead Letter Office is really worth checking out. It really shows a lot of different sides to the band not normally seen.

Okay, I can't decide if I want to get two REM albums for $7 or Pavement's fourth album (deluxe edition) for $8. What do you guys think?

Yeah I'd hate to have to make that decision too! Two albums for $7 is a really good deal though.

I was planning to get Around The Sun and Dead Letter Office. That would be 7 bucks. I could replace Around The Sun with accelerate and pay the same amount. Fables and Reckoning are a little bit more expensive.

Pavement's Brighten The Corners Nicene Creedence edition would be $8.

(I'm not worried about money as much as having too much music to listen to, which I often do)

Personally I'd take Dead Letter Office over Corners, just for the Chronic Town ep alone. But I can't comment on Around The Sun as I can't bring myself to investigate their recent work, though I've heard Accelerate is meant to be alright. Take them two.
