They've done some alright songs, I've seen them live a few times back in the early days and they put on a good show.

Just don't think they are as relevant as everyone expected them to be.

Oh I don't know I find Oasis to be more entertaining than say the Stone Roses and Joy Division but I have to agree with you on the Smiths, but its hard to compete with a band that had one of the world's greatest living guitarists.

Some of Johnny Marr's riffs are sure harder to tackle than anything done by David Gilmour or Jimmy Page.

Do it or don't. Asking whether you should listen to something or not is stupid. It's not like there are lives at stake here.

axaxaxa loved this answer.

I'd have to say no as well. I never missed listening to them. I'd go for Blur instead

Morning Glory, yes

Live Forever, yes

D'You Know What I Mean?, yes

Falling Down, yes

Oasis are simply an awesome band as far as I am concerned. Not many bands can write songs that have the ability to give me chills when they reach the chorus.

Ridiculously overrated band.

Haven't listened to anything past their first two albums, but I'd rock them before anything Blur ever did. The latter might be a more creative band, but Oasis released two of the greatest power pop albums of all time ("alternative" is only applied to them due to their time period as far as I'm concerned).

"Rock and Roll Star" "What's the Story (Morning Glory)" are all that is good in life.

Blur never released a complete album. There was always one or two songs that ruined the experiences for me. Oasis had the two obvious albums with zero filler and if a song was not fantastic it at least felt like there was effort put into it.

Well I liked them both but Blur was always more of a pop band to me, while Oasis was clearly rock.

Neither of them can hold a candle to the 70's greats like Floyd & Zeppelin, but both were good for their time, and personally I would rather sit down and listen to Oasis greatest hits than Pearl Jam's.

^^^

Its not that I don't like Blur. I just believe that Oasis is for sure worth a listen, more so than blur.

I, on the other hand, would rather listen to Pearl Jam over Oasis though. Probably my fault for overplaying Whats the Story Morning Glory and Definitely Maybe.
