TBH, I can't exactly remember why I said "surprising". Probably because Moon Hooch are very likeable and yet they don't have much of a footprint on MB. Your thread was busy for a couple of months, but then they seemed to get forgotten; I've never seen stuff about latest releases, associated bands, sim artists, etc, which you so often get here. So the surprise was that they were not new to MB when Frownland posted them in this thread.

The Tiny Desk Concerts fulfill their function very well: they give you a very digestible-sized introduction to an artist, live, and with crystal-clear sound and video.

Every since someone gave me five Angélique Kidjo albums, on mp3, I have been meaning to check her out properly. According to MB search, she's been mentioned just 5 times here, but as you'll quickly see, she has the assured professionalism that befits a Grammy award winner. She also has a song that's presumably a rallying cry for oppressed African women, called Free And Equal. Now applying, of course, to post-Dobbs American women too:
