wow, well that's a first...

they may be tad tawdry, but it occured to me the other day how influencial they have been for this decade. the release of their debut started a whole new movement in music, a return to the garage rock, guitar led pop that dominates the rock charts today. disagree if you will, but thats the way i see it. how many "the..." bands do you see today playing fast, bouncy pop-rock with the "dirty, rough" image.

I absolutely agree, that's why I decided to download their albums the other day but half way through it I decided not to, because I have already moved on to the faster, more evolved sound of the new wave ( the bravery, the killers, bloc party etc. )...I should've done it earlier...now they just seem to mellow and slow...
