Aaaahhhhh, well (and excuse me now, because rather than getting tattooed as planned I seem to have spent most of the afternoon/eve in the pub...) I actually really liked it. I would have gone to see it regardless, purely on the Depp/Burton combo, but I could see where Burton was trying to go with it. The only bit that didn't jibe with me was the whole slaying the Jabberwocky, because that wasn't really the Alice portrayed in the original story. But I do love the original novel (still have my very first hardback copy of it from when I was 8!) and I was pleased with the way that most of the characters were done in the film. To be honest, Tim Burton has a special place in my heart and it would take a hell of a lot for me to say he did something that I hated...

And hello again!

Tore, you are a wonder! Thank you, I wasn't really that concerned about my Mad hatter (even though it is certainly one of the best illustrations of him ever), but now he is completely awesome! And no, I've never studied in Norway. Gemma is a hideously common name over here, especially in my age braket
I'm just curious because I've never heard that name here in the US. Is it pronounced like Geh-ma or Jeh-ma. Or am I just completely off?

Haha, it's Jemm - ah. Gem as in small treasure (at least that's what I tell myself) follwed by a short Ah!

I have a lot of family in the US and they always tell me what a great name I have. Little do they know it's the first name equivilant of Smith over here...

You know, I really like the feeling I get from your username and the Mad Hatter illustration avatar.

I see I'm rather late, but welcome!
