Awkward Introduction Type Thing

Long time lurker, first time poster here! :wavey:

I've been following a few threads for awhile now, and figured it was about time I join in on the banter (pun?).

Some of my favourite bands/artists off the top of my head:

Radiohead, Wilco, The Strokes, Mastodon, Elliott Smith, Run The Jewels, Death Grips, Arcade Fire, Dillinger Escape Plan, and System of a Down.

However, if you were to ask me tomorrow I'd probably provide a completely different list. Nonetheless, I look forward to discovering and discussing some great music with all of you!

Welcome to MB. Nice taste.

The Batlord 05-10-2015 03:58 PM

Does it ever kind of weird people out that there are people out there that lurk on this site? Like, there might be a whole group of people I am entirely unfamiliar with who have informed opinions about me and know aspects of my life. Sort of like a celebrity. I love lurkers.

Your Metal Album Survivor thread introduced me to When the Kite Strings Pop, that alone makes you worthy of your celebrity-like status.

I know, right? If you ever want to get freaked out by how many strangers know you, just check out how many referrals people have given you in the "Statistics" tab of your profile.

I lurk on quite a few other forums so, no, it doesn't weird me out.

Apparently I have one. How do you even get a referral?

DeadChannel 05-12-2015 06:12 PM

...
you refer someone...

Chula Vista 05-12-2015 06:18 PM

As far as I know I have done no such thing.

Josef K 05-12-2015 06:41 PM

When somebody registers they type in your name as the person who influenced them to join. Who knows how you got one.

I lurk on Muzicforumz (sp?) and it gives me that weird feeling like I am visiting a person with a coma in the hospital.

It just totally didn't occur to me skinheads walk the streets of Vancouver.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 03-25-2017 08:06 AM

I've heard there were a lot of racial hate groups out in the west coast but I thought it was more Alberta than BC. idk why tho.

Hi, dj.

Thelonious Monkey, that is about the coolest moniker i have ever come across on the internet!
i'm shocked that nobody has used it before...

as you might guess, i'm a huge fan of monk's music, as well as any bop from that period.

Let me introduce myself. I run a used book and record store in vancouver. i collect p k dick first editions and play jazz guitar (amiture sp?) but have lots of fun with it and meet other musicians. lookin forward to participating on this forum

Unfortunately I've never listened to his music. I was given this name from the community. I will eventually go listen, but for now I can't be arsed. I still like the name either way.
