He died the next week with complications (internal injuries).

The very next year we went to Benidorm and all got back safely in one piece.
Although there was another group of lads from our home town (who we knew but didn't hang about with) and they lost a friend when he fell from a hotel balcony.
This was the late 80's. A time when "Lads" holidays abroad were relatively new and very cheap. Beer included.
Anyone who's old enough to remember those days won't be in the least bit surprised at what went on back then. Like I said...crazy days.

EDIT: Seems some things never change :/

These stories remind me of my Eurorail months trip in my late teens, there were five of us and I was the quiet one! We got thrown out of a hotel for insulting people, ran out of two cafes in Belgium without paying, groped prostitutes in Hamburg without paying, vandalized the entrance of a local cinema in Germany and beat up two French guys we got into an argument with and we were usually plastered most nights......hell knows how we got around half of Europe in a month.

What is it with the British abroad. It's as if bad behaviour is fuelled by some form of twisted national pride.
Never been able to fully put my finger on it.

I'd put it down to several factors. We have an island mentality, we have virtually no lingusitic integration with the rest of Europe and we are also the remains of a once powerful empire that did what it wanted when it wanted.

Liking fashion doesn't neccesarily make you a sheep. I like fashion, I like to make my own things and I like to make myself look good. Being a plain Jane is pretty much my worst nightmare. I've always been under the impression most Americans aren't into fashion.
