Yeah anything with “post” in the name is almost as pretentious as IDM. It’s not for everybody.

You'll discover that the term "pretentious" is thrown around a lot here.

Agree that most "post rock" is watery nonsense but I've learned to like Mogwai and Godspeed/Silver Mt.Zion. Godspeed are tremendous live

At first when I branched out from indie rock a bit I figured every other post-rock band was just a poor man’s GY!BE or Mogwai but eventually I dove in.

I also figured why listen to other shoegaze if I had My Bloody Valentine so clearly I wasn’t very good at listening to music.
