I know you're gonna think I'm crazy (halfway true) but here are some of my favorite blues tracks (in no particular order):
Lol and trust me, I know blues (although some of these tracks have a definite soul to them, the best blues IMO are soulful), I've been playing them for 15 years! These are goodies! Prince - On The Couch Robben Ford - Sweet Sixteen Bill Withers - Hope She'll Be Happier (live at Carnegie) Steppenwolf - Disappointment Number (Unknown) Van Morrison - T.B. Sheets Chickenshack - I'd Rather Go Blind Taj Mahal - Statesboro Blues |
^Taj Mahal ftw.
I also love me some Johnny Winter: |
BB King- No One Loves me but my Mother (And she could be jivin, too)
|
Robert Cray-'Still hot smokin' gun. (I guess it makes me think about shooting..:(..someone? (not really), Cray is there!). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2gQEDwjhaDE

Etta James ~ I'd Rather Go Blind, and although it's not pure blues, I love I Wish It Would Rain ~ The temptations
|
kenny burrell - soul lament
One of the bluest sounds songs I've ever heard |
|
Stormy Monday Live by the Allman Brothers all day
|
Not blues but this Chet Baker/ Wolfgang Lackershmid track is pretty blue;
