Did anyone hear of Kenny Wayne Shepherd, he came to my town over the summer for this festival thing and just blew my mind. I read he is like one of the best blues guitarists.

Yeah he's great too.

I've heard good things about Magic Slim. I'll check him out. Thanks!

Check out C. W. Stoneking. I was given his album to listen to a while back and thought I was listening to someone from the deepest south.

Back Door Slam

I heard about these guys yesterday and they are pretty good. The guitarist/singer is a combination of SRV and Clapton

Maybe try Derek Trucks Band.

I was told he was incredible, but have yet to really get into his music. Is anyone here a fan of Joe Bonamassa?

How about Keb' Mo'? I saw him in concert once and he was great!

Just a few: Guitar Shorty, Michael Burks, Bernard Allison, Walter Trout, Lurie Bell, Sonny Landreth, Jimmy Thackery, Tinsley Ellis, Moreland & Arbuckle, Hillstomp, North Mississippi All-stars, and the venerable Buddy Guy is still sounding pretty modern.

just to back up the people on here i'd say go with Sonny Landreth, Derek Trucks, and Buddy Guy. they're my favorite modern ones.
