I listened to Pat Metheny's As Falls Wichita, so Falls Wichita Falls yesterday. Still awesome after all those years. Kind of reminds me of a less world music sounding Steve Tibbetts.

Thank you. I tried.....and failed.

What I find that's much easier than trying to grab stuff off of the address bar
is to go to the "Share" link on the video and you'll get something like this:

https://youtu.be/BTMFemx-aSg

so, just take everything on the right side of the forward slash:

BTMFemx-aSg

and put it inside the YOUTUBE tags and it should work.

drfunker 02-28-2019 02:15 PM

Perfect. That is how I am going to do it from here on out.
Much easier. Thanks for the tip.

Awesome!! So great to see that more of his stuff is coming out.

edit: have been listening to this since my response. Wow!
Really liking this a lot. I have always been a fan of Sun Ra.
Loved the "Alone Together" arrangement and playing.

Why are there so many of his albums being released now?

drfunker 03-03-2019 06:09 AM

Down the rabbit hole I go.....

While looking for more of Nicole Glover's playing, I came across this album that she is on:
https://george-colligan.bandcamp.com.../more-powerful

I am only one track deep, but I am hooked in to listen to the rest now.

This one seems a bit uneven and hit or miss. Some of it flows quite nicely and some of it just doesn't impress me much at all.

Percussive Jazz Vol. 1 - Doctored for Super-Jazz (1960)

Interesting that the first tune on the album is "The Man with the Golden Arm."

I haven't listened to this one in years.
I suddenly was in the mood to listen to this exact sound and then it actually took me a while to remember the title and artists.

Restrained, mysterious and very entertaining free jazz.

A jazzy romp through the titillating ‘60s! On Mr. Peters’ Pets, composer Nicholas Carras ventures deep into the bongo-crazed percussion world of exotica! As a whole, this is a jubilant jazz record with serious swagger.

Album by Bobby Previte, Jamie Saft, and Steve Swallow

Most everywhere this is listed as 2019 release but I find one source claiming 2018 but that may have been a promotional press release only.

Im listening to this album right now and it is absolutely fantastic to hear Indian musicians paying tribute to Miles Davis. If you havent heard it I suggest you check it out right away. I would go on and post loads of jibberish about all the jazz albums Ive got but I cant be bothered just now and Ive noticed theres a section on your profile where you can add albums or something so might give that a try.

That shouldn't correlate. If it did, it'd go both ways and my dad hates jazz.

OccultHawk 06-17-2019 07:19 PM
