Stevie Ray for sure, One of my fav guitar players. You also gotta love the the rock solid rythym held by double trouble. Not to mention he is a Lone Star State staple.

Stevie Ray Vaughan..he was incredible. Anyone who can redo a Stevie Wonder song and do it well enough that Stevie Wonder wants to perform with you is talented as hell. Not to mention he could shred even on an acoustic.

Shred this! Johnny Winter has the quickest hands in the business. His version of Hideaway by Freddie King is the best. His Captured Live Album is unbeatable. Stevie Ray built on what came before. The combination of Johnny Winter and Rick Derringer was the best one-two guitar punch in rock history.

The question here does not involve Jimi Hendrix, dummies. It’s SRV vs. Johnny Winter.
Johnny Winter gets the nod.

SRV is a master he cannot be denied that and im not talkin any junk about him I have nothin but respect for the man and the musician he is. He will always be one of my influences, but when it comes to the blues Johnny winter takes it to another level. Winter does not just play blues he lives it everyday. I dont like to choose between these two but Johnny winter has captured the blues, and has influenced me the most.

As far as sheer guitar talent. Its hard to beat Srv. Both great artists but every artist is unique. Srv's influences were Albert King, Freddie King. Hendrix, etc.. You can hear how his skills surpass them but at the same time without their contribution there wouldnt be anything for him to elaborate on. Long as they all shared the same passion is what matters really. Hard to compare legends when they are both great. But just for the sake of being a Texan and hardcore SRV fan. Ill say Stevie.

Both great but I'm a big fan of Winter so he got my vote. I seen Johnny Winter in 1982 & he was amazing live. I just read the book Raisin Cain The Johnny Winter Story & it was a great book
