I've been listening to a lot of circus cabaret again... Found me some intriguingly playful and enjoyable playlists; thought I'd share...

The first playlist is very accordion-heavy (hence the picture obviously); I can listen to this the whole way through on repeat...



The next one is a bit darker, with more of a "femme fatal" theme to it... I listened to this on Valentines Day when doing my hair/makeup vintage pin-up style (it came out flawless btw...Coincidence? I think not! )

I heard somewhere that Elvis took dancing tips from a burlesque dancer. Since then I began to realize that maybe Burlesque is not a forgotten early twentieth century type of dancing, but something that pervades pop culture, whether people are aware of it or not, even today.

I started off with one Burlesque-esque instrumental, then from there the list grew on its own. I have no idea how to order these. I was thinking either have the music or the video in chronological order. The videos have the music overdubbed so they are sorta mix-matched. I am guessing Night Train by Buddy Morrow was probably one of the most popular in the Burlesque style. A few are proper examples and the other videos are add-ons to illustrate the point of Burlesque's influence. So from Cheesecake of the 40s/50s to Go-Go dancing of the 60s to Disco dancing in the 70s (whether art, fashion or dance moves) there is a little bit of burlesque influences in there somewhere.
