He was intensely creative, but i really dont like his tone, and as a trumpet player his technique wasnt as good as it could be. he's squeaky when u know he shouldnt be. but in the long run, it doesnt matter cuz he was insanely creative

LOL. No one ever gets the same feelings anyone does over any song, movie or other. It seems we all have our own experiences. If we care to listen to others...we might "get" someone else's band, song, movie or other. But it takes people skills to get that far.
Funny...right. I quess I am tired of all the mean people. Who said it was cool to be rude. Appreciate what that person had to say! Geeeesh!!! ;-) |

From listening to his entire discography, buying alot of his records and reading his autobiography I honestly wouldn't even consider some of his albums jazz, in the same way to Eric Dolphy or Andrew Hill. He certainly is an incredibly musician who plays very well, obviously, but I honestly don't think he was incredibly talented on the same level as Mingus or Coltrane. I would consider him the greatest Jazz-Fusion artist and possibly te greatest trumpet player in jazz but I would'nt consider him the GOAT. He is extremely cool, possibly also coolest musician ever.
