Vanilla, I just had a gander at your 2005 thread! Did you live up to that McDonalds promise? None of it for a whole year in those days? I haven't been to one since 2001. Got to loathe it then and vowed to never get back there again.
Now I plan to make a huge change: I might part with the teeming city and start afresh in some ravishing town, far from the capital city. I also plan to rescue a street dog. Why not two?

  • stop eating sweets/try to wean myself off unnatural caffeine products and aspartame.
  • get my new driver's license (I've lived in this state for almost 2 years; I think it's time).
  • study a new language.
  • handle my depression more wisely when it flares up.

What language are you interested in? I'd really like to get back into studying a language too. Maybe get back into French. I used to be fluent but I think I've lost some of it as I haven't spoken a word of it in 5 years.

I certainly did, I managed to not have McDonalds for a year and a half. I am one of the few who can commit to resolutions. I ended up being repulsed by Maccas at that time. I'm not guaranteeing that I'll manage this years resolutions though, but I made it realistic, I can't go from eating junk a lot to not at all.

I blame John Key. I love this country, I can get past the embarressing parts of it, but not it's wages. I am quite keen to move to Melbourne next year or the year after. Although I know that there is a shortage of IT people (.Net specialists) so I'm going to really focus on finishing my study!

You're not wrong there. The wages in this country are pathetic along with the law

It's ridiculous. Middle class families are barely able to support themselves. In prison convicts are better off.

I'm thinking Spanish or French, as both languages are practically vital in this area of the United States. (You'd be surprised how many of my customers can't communicate with me because they don't speak English - imagine how much better my service could be if I knew their home language.)
