They're great fun, but I've had it for three years now and feel like a change.

Hard not to wonder what they're driving (Dodge Darts?). You mention Hyundai. With everything from a Top 10 2011 (Most Likely to Succeed) pick from Playboy, bullet proof versions for Korean heads of state all the way to a DUB Magazine mod make it a formidable brand. Also hard not to ignore is their "Equus with iPad manual" package. Good fun me thinks. B. P.S. Fave Seattle moment: Louder than Love hands down (pun?) and Hands All Over |

What I wish I was driving (if I could afford it): Mazda 3 or BMW
What I drive: Toyota Yaris |
I have two cars, actually.
One, my daily car, is an Opel (vauxhall) Astra Stationwagon: The other one is a little Citroën Visa Oldtimer. I'm pretty much of a petrolhead. Had quite some cars over the years (10 cars in 6 years). I'm mostly into French, British and Swedish cars. I dislike japanese and korean cars, suv's and most modern VAG cars. My friends are petrolheads too, so our driveway is pretty full now and then http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n...s/IMG_9693.jpg http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n...s/IMG_9382.jpg |

Right now, I share a 2010 Dodge Avenger:
http://images.chryslercanada.ca/imag...XX_XXX_XXX.jpg Before that, I got to drive a 2005 Dodge Neon, which I actually liked a lot: http://www.autotropolis.com/wiki/ima...on_320x240.jpg And my first car (and still the dearest to my heart) was my 1997 Jeep Cherokee: http://www.governmentauctions.org/up...and-751175.JPG |
Love the cherokee :).
Lot of Japanese cars here, man! I've had two mitsubishi's, which were both crap. And an old Nissan, which was brilliant. But even if they're reliable, Japanese cars (especially the ones of the last 20 years) bore me to death. And I must say pretty much every car here is quite reliable. |
Thanks, man! I loved that Jeep more than just about anything - it was the most reliable car I could ever hope for. It (naturally) handled snow and ice really well, and made it almost 200k miles before it had to be retired.
I used to take that Jeep on weekends and just drive from college (in Kentucky) all the way up to New York City just to stay for a day and drive back. Such a great vehicle. Never did me wrong. :) |
last car i owned was a little 3 cylinder Subaru Justy, but that was more than 3 years ago. these days i just use public transportation...
|
Inspired by some car small talk elsewhere, I feel like showing off some of my past transportation.

There isn't one I don't like.
I'm sure I'll get an R12 sometime. Been thinking about that for years. The 16 was in my mind too, but as far as I'm informed it's not quite problemfree :) |
One common issue with the old Renaults is the aluminum cylinder head which is sensitive to overheating, as well as the cylinder linings which tend to sink over time. I believe that was a problem on my R12 since it consumed a lot of oil which went out with the exhaust. The R16 ran very smoothly on the other hand apart from a cracked distributor. (Some french technical solutions seem to have built-in self-destructive tendencies). Overall reliable cars but rust kills big time.
|
That's always the thing with old cars. You can keep them going, but sooner or later rust will kill them, unless you rebuild them from scratch.
|
The major reason for rust up here is the salt that they sprinkle on the roads in winter, but only in the southern parts. Upnorth it's generally too cold for it to have any effect on the icy roads so it's not used there. That's why "norrlandskörd" (has-been-driven-in-the-north-of-Sweden) is a common sales argument in car ads.
|
I'd buy a car if it had been driven in the north of Sweden.

In the end you're slippin' and slidin' just as much, but now your car gets knackered. It's time they stop doing this and teach people how to drive on snow... |

(Where did they ever come up with Vauxhall, the man was actually Called Adam Opel). |
Yeah I know but where I stay we don't get Opels. Hadn't looked at the badges just recognised the body's.
|
The only difference between opel and vauxhall is the engine.
Yeah the corsa is a nice reliable and very fuel-efficient car. Not my ideal car but i'll do me for now. |
whats the differences in engine?
|
There is no difference. The only difference is the name.
It's just called Vauxhall in the UK and Holden in Australia. There's some strange things with the types, too. The astra is called astra since 1991, here. Before that it was called Kadett. The old Kadetts (before 197xsomething) were called Viva there. Then there's the Cavalier, which is called Ascona here. And yeah, the Vauxhall Nova is called Corsa here. And so on. It's pretty weird. Quote:

A vauxhall is basically an opel only with a vauxhall-made engine and rebadged. At least to my knowledge anyway.
|
Never even heard of a Vauxhall Nova. Must be a corsa here. I HATE corsas. I know more than the average "female" about cars as both my brothers have been mechanics and one still is! One worked for Vauxhall which is where my hatred comes from haha. Ford for the win! :)
|
I never liked the looks of the corsa shown above, but it rides pretty well I must say.
I like boxy cars. Like the Volvo 144 or the Renault 5. So I also like the first series of corsa's :) |
