If you can't take jokes or insults you shouldn't be posting on a forum where you're obviously going to come across many different types of personalities.

jr. 04-12-2006 07:59 AM

That's fair enough, I suppose. I'm simply saying, if the first thing a person encounters is being attacked when they show up here, more than likely, they're not going to come back.

I personally don't think insulting people is a constructive way to spend my time, so I don't do it. I don't judge others, because I don't walk in their shoes.

I certainly would never attack anyone I never met.

Don't forget about how punk can be more arty e.g Joy Division.

Bands like Greenday revitalised punk, changing it, hence why there is now the term punk-pop.

By your logic, The Ramones are not punk, they are pop punk, think about it, every song they have is in the standard pop format, and easy to say it worked for them and they became very popular.

Pop punk has punk it its title for a reason, its a certain type of punk, in other words, pop punk is punk, dumbass.

Don 04-12-2006 08:52 AM

Ramones didn't revitalise rock and were never about being poppy. Of course punk-pop is related to punk. Heavy Metal is related to Death Metal, do you think they're the same?

punk-pop ≠ punk.

Listen to Blitzkrieg Bop and tell me that.

Their music is practically pop with loud distorted guitars....Johnny and Joey were pop enthusiasts.

It would be nice if almost every single thread didn`t end up with either a genre arguement or Don & Boo Boo going at it yet again.

Or in this case both.

As long as everything is uniform, it should be great.

The threads should be named like:

Morrissey - Ringleader Of The Tormentors

And everything will be easy to search, I think it is a great idea.

but, hey what do i know, it might be just a little to crazy for some ppl to follow.

True but I don`t see how it would hurt to have a forum dedicated to it.
Especially as we have a forum in the shape of the song of the week forum that is never used anyway & has never been used in the year & a half i`ve been here.

A new poster starts a thread, and instead of getting:

" We already discussed this topic, here is the link. Have a read, and add your opinions. And welcome."

They get:

"You f^ckin' retard newbie, if you would use your G.D. brain, blah blah blah..", followed by a handful of other posters, jumping in and taking their shot.

Is it any wonder we don't have any new posters? After a first impression like that? The only ones who stay are the ones who are just as rude as the people who were rude to them.

It doesn't cost anything to be tolerant, or have a little patience with someone less experienced.

when i first joined i was attack for every little thing i say... after a while i know that a few people were just watching me and waiting for me to say something anything just so they could start off another fight.. but yea why i stayed i don't know.. i just did fights or no fights this place gives me something to do... but as for most people that sign up to this place i can see why they would run away with there little tails between there leggers.
