Have **** buddies then. As long as your remain clear within the relationship that you're in it for sex and fun, without laying emphasis on exceedingly heavy emotional bonds, then there's no need for heartbreak. Evolution hasn't been able to keep up with modern living.

Not all love hurts.
And your friend's relationships don't necessarily apply to you unless you make the same mistakes they have/did, and date the same people they have.
And you don't have to be a hopeless romantic to find love either.
Case in point, one of my first dates with my boyfriend was at a martial arts place. That's one of the least romantic places in the world.
