Facebook could always create a way for people to approve comments, like with Word Press or Blogger. It might be a little harder to do with user profiles, but for other profiles, one's like this memorial, it would help control spamming and trolling. At least it wouldn't be visible to the open public.

That would enable the admin to stop these comments appearing on the page but it wouldnt stop them coming in, which surely is the hurtful part. It would just enable them to keep it neat and tidy.

Yeah but people are going to be inconsiderate dicks no matter what, especially when it's over a digital medium. At least that way the comments wouldn't make it up onto the page.

I think Facebook already has enough security options to prevent people from commenting on their status. Here's an idea, if someone writes something ****ty on you page, delete them. Easy day IMO.

I've already expressed my dismay over Facebook, but since I got my iPhone I've been using it more than I ever have. It's mainly because if something comes into my head I like to put it on a status. Just a phrase or lyrics or something, the status part of the site is all I use, I should probably just delete my account though and get Twitter.

They tried to add me too. They also had a mutual friend who has absolutely no affiliation with MB. I figured they were one of those people that just add randoms to advertise stuff so I ignored it, they provided no cover message to say how I'd know them.

I think by default some basic information is always accessible. Kinda creepy, considering they force you to use a real name. Well, you can use a pseudoname, but it's frightfully uncommon. That site is a stalker's DREAM.
