Privacy controls... they work.

Half the people who join regularly actually only make some dipshit comment or opinion that no one cares of or even reads and then never comes back. Why not do us all a favour and not join.

I just have the one Facebook account, and make a point of not having anything on the page that I wouldn't want anyone to see. I've got my privacy settings set just about as private as the account can be, but I still won't allow anything completely inappropriate on my Facebook. If someone tags me in a photo which appears unsavory in the slightest, I remove the tag. If someone posts something incriminating on my wall, I remove the post.

Best to stay on the safe side, I suppose.

I despise facebook and it's CEO. He doesn't care about any of his users. Every little detail you put on that site is stored in the database so they can market ads to you using the demographics you provide, unknowingly. More money for them if they can laser target what ads they think you're interested in, and get you to click them.

This site is hilarious also.

Facebook is evil. In my job, it's considered dysfunctional to have where you work on the 'employment' section under the info tab. People have actually been sacked over it before, where they've put on their status "I hate work, it's shit' and someone higher has looked at their account and put two and two together.. Silly rabbit.

Haha that reminds me of one of those failbook images you see everywhere. This girl is like... "I hate my damn boss, he's such a wanker and I think he's gay. Plus he's always getting me to do stupid work!"

Then the boss replies on her wall... "I guess you don't remember adding me and I thought you knew I was gay. And stupid stuff I make you do? You mean your job? The stuff I pay you for? By the way don't bother coming into work tomorrow, yes I'm serious."

C'mon, people have to be seriously stupid to do something like that. Like Freebase said... privacy controls actually work. I have a Facebook, but for people who I add who may be in the 'professional' spectrum of my life, they only see an extremely limited version of my profile. You can change privacy settings from person to person. And even if you didn't rely on privacy settings, you'd have to be a bit of an idiot anyway to put information on the internet that you wouldn't want public...

At a job I had, someone started a "I hate (company name)" kind of group that compared the management to nazi's and the picture for the page was a picture of Hitler. A lot of people took issue with the fact that they then disciplined those who made it and those who joined it.

I agree completely that it's their own fault. I wasn't stupid enough to join it.
