I would assume that bullying isn't limited to a bully posting a comment on the target's wall. It probably consists of, like Lateralus mentioned, spreading rumors like posting pictures or embarrassing things about the target on their own wall or on their friends' walls for everyone else to see. Deleting the bully from your friends list does nothing to stop that, it would only make you blind to it (which is not a bad thing either). Not that I know anything about this, I'm just imagining.

I'm grateful every day that there was no internet when I was growing up.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

Meh. When I was in school there was internet but no one really used it until year 9. I remember in year 8 I had a rumour going round I fancied the really weird ugly kid and it was really embarrassing (I was such a twat getting embarrassed over that, considering she was a friend of sorts) but yeah, if there was no internet it'd be rumours spread around the old fashioned way. If you delete them you wouldn't be blind to it, because it'd find its way to you eventually. You just have to know how to deal with it.

To me people just find anything they can to have a go at even if it's not that bad, and I'm not saying that because I love Facebook, I'm actually thinking of not going on it much anymore. It's TOO annoying.

Maybe it's just the way I was raised, but I use my facebook very responsibly. I don't add strangers, I think about what I type before I update my status, the majority of my private information is set to "friends only", and I don't let absurd or silly comments upset me.

If a stranger visits my facebook all they see is my photo and city I live in.

I use it too keep in touch with friends but also my expansive family which is spread out over the US. It's easier than calling family and friends up once a week or month and just saying "How have you been doing, I'm doing fine, thanks." It offers a real-time connection to them.

And I've been this way since Xanga and Livejournal emerged, and I was in middle school. Maybe if more children were raised to use social outlets with caution and in a reserved manner, then there wouldn't be as many "cyber-bullying" and stranger danger issues out there.

I enjoyed it more about a year ago though, before the big changes and the increase in applications.
