All you listen to is classic rock and "riot grrrl". That must kind of suck. Honestly, I don't have much to say about this that hasn't been said already (Women shouldn't be allowed to make music if they suck at it etc).

I recommend you try some good bands with girl memebers. Maybe Laughing Hyenas or L-Seven or someshit.

Some good artists here namely DOA, Husker Du, Count Basie and Ghoul. Napalm Death is so shit especially their early stuff. I mean come on it's just so lame and unbrutal. If you like Napalm Death go and get yourself some Siege, Cianamid and Fear of God (The Switzerland one). They are earlier and more extreme although probably better classed as straight hardcore and not grind.

Camel, Opeth and Porcupine Tree really suck though. overly boring prog rock crap.

Overall thoughts: Probably the best list so far. At least it has some variety.

1. Negatory

2. Napalm Death preceded Siege and Fear of God. Can't say I've hear Cianamid.

3. Do you write music? From a muscians standpoint those bands define genius. I mean, Snowgoose from Camel is one of the first progressive epics and I don't get how anyone can listen to it with an open mind and not appreciate it.

Oh and old low-fi hardcore sucks. Well 90% of it.

People not being able to sing/scream, not being in anyway talented at their instruments, and singing mindless "non-conformist" anti-authoritarian lyrics = ****ty music.

oh and SEB, this wasn't the post your myspace list of trendy bands thread. It was pick ones. We all know you don't actually listen to music. So why bother pretending?

I do to listen to music, ask anyone I private message with. And anyone I know in real life really. I listen to quite a lot of music. I just don't post because I'd have to deal with this type of un-nessacary... hoopla everytime.
I don't think they're particularly "trendy", classic rock and whatnot happens to be "in" yes, but that's not why I adore it. Bob Segar (however you spell it) was right kid, taday's music ain't got the same soul.

2. Napalm Death preceded Siege and Fear of God in when they formed but early Napalm Death weren't in the beginning what I would consider grindlike. Both Fear of God and Siege were around circa 1984-1985 (Fear of God maybe a little later) but they were still before Napalm Death released Scum and would be considered influences on grind, particularly Siege. See: Napalm Death - Siege of Power. All were roughly around the same time weither they were playing live, recording etc.

3. I do appreciate Camel but it's no fun to not bash on them.

You don't understand hardcore.

I do. I get the mentality and why I was needed at the time. However, it was never meant to an exclusive genre. Which you are making it.
