Is It Possible For A Male And Female To Be Friends??

Here's the deal, I was hanging out with a girl just having fun and conversation and last night she went completely out of hand on me and wanted more. My question is legitimate, is it REALLY possible??

I'm choked cuz she was a REALLY cool girl to hang out with

Sparky 05-23-2007 04:54 PM

well if the male is ***, and the female is lesbian im sure it could happen =D

besides that, no, its impossible

Urban Hat€monger ? 05-23-2007 04:54 PM

I used to go out drinking with one of my sisters freinds quite a lot and nothing ever happened once.

Mind you thats probably because she has a face like a slapped arse & no tits.
But she was fun to be with when we were both drunk.

sleepy jack 05-23-2007 04:54 PM

I don't think it is, my best friend is a girl and neither of us is expecting sex or even wants it from eachother.

MURDER JUNKIE 05-23-2007 04:57 PM

^so it's not possible based on that??

sleepy jack 05-23-2007 04:59 PM

I meant I don't think its impossible...<.< /failz

The fact that your asking, answers your own question as far as your concerned.

MURDER JUNKIE 05-23-2007 05:01 PM

see I had this all sorted out with the best intentions and was under the understanding that everything was cool and I was completely blindsided by this last night. I want a Gal Pal :(

Ma Cherie 05-23-2007 05:05 PM

it is possible to just be friends, most of the guys i know, alothugh half admit i'm hot and they do want to, also say they prefer not to because they like our friendship, strangely enougth, i have more friend who are guys i think, then who are girls, but only about 3 i acually consiter close male friends, where i have 5 girls who are close friends... so it depends, granted i have never gotten drunk or tipsy around them.... it depends on the girl i guess, if she is loose or not

I'm actually kinda pissed about it, I put everything on the table and the tables were still turned against me. I asked nothing and expected nothing, I just wanted a friend

right-track 05-23-2007 05:18 PM

Is this the same girl from the bar...the one you had a smoke with?

MURDER JUNKIE 05-23-2007 05:20 PM

no, the signals were there for that one

TheBig3 05-23-2007 05:22 PM

One of my best friends is a female. She dated two of my friends, so I don't think it would happen, but she and I are pretty close.

MURDER JUNKIE 05-23-2007 05:31 PM

I'm pissed about why this imploded then, I used to have a Gal Pal for 4 years but she moved away :(

Kevorkian Logic 05-23-2007 06:00 PM

I think so.

I consider good friends to a friend who you are comfortable enough with that's perfectly natural to take a nap in their bed at any time and/or they are comfortable enough to walk into your house a 2 in the morning wake you up and demand pancakes.

At the same time there is just no extreme physical contact mainly sex.

And using that my convenient logic that is 2 guys who reside in my tiny town i'm that chill with.
So therefore it can work.

adidasss 05-23-2007 06:00 PM

Yes. Stop hanging out with hoes...:-|

MURDER JUNKIE 05-23-2007 06:05 PM

^But they are the most friendly :(

Or just single chicks in general.

The Dave 05-23-2007 07:05 PM

Eh, I've got a few really good friends who are girls and I've never even considered wanting to hook up with any of them. But we've been friends since we were little so they're almost like my sisters, except not annoying.

Frances 05-23-2007 07:21 PM

I've got plenty of chick friends, but before I had my girlfriend, half of them thought I was trying to pick them up! Now, they crash in my bed or whatever, the girlfriend doesn't care. hell, we had her ex of 5 years over here for tea last night and we all got wasted and passed out.

I can't really relate because it was never a problem for me. But, judging by my experience with other fags (which are the biggest and horniest sluts on the planet I'd imagine), there would be no problems if you just say upfront you're not interested in he/she/it sexually...unfortunately I think it's necessary to point that out...people are just...horny...

I don't think you should make a big deal out of it, she tried, you (hopefully) politely refused...all is well with the world.

Welcome back moonlit, you Irish gobshite. :)

@MJ...wouldn't it be more realistic to ask the question, is it possible to have a girl as a friend and be married?

MoonlitSunshine 05-26-2007 02:48 PM

hello to you too. popping in and out atm, exams coming up.. *sigh*

to reinforce my point, i think it's possible, as long as both parties have the same mentality. if one's lookin' for lovin', however, it won't work.

I have to agree that that. I'm usually 100 times more comfortable around a guy that has a girlfriend because I'm not worried about him getting the wrong signals and complications ensuing, which they have many times.

And of course I when i'm around single guys that I tend to turn into a tongue-tied, bumbling, awkward, fool because my mind is focused on not saying anything that can be taken the wrong way and just being as asexual as possible. And then that pisses my ex off because he knows that is not how I act around him and my girlfriends/close guy friends, which he tells me constantly is a much more interesting and likable person.

jackhammer 05-26-2007 06:39 PM

It is such a difficult line to tread. I am a manager of a juice bar and I had a Slovakian girl work for me for nearly a year. She went back to Slovakia to do her exams and we have been chatting on Messenger for a good few months now and she came over to england in spring and there wae sexual tension there-we both new it-yet i'm 14 years older and have two kids!

Nothing happened but she is due back in about three weeks and she is staying for a month-and our messages have never reached out and out flirting, but they have have an element of sexual tension-i'm really screwed when she comes over!

However-yes Males and Females can be friends but it is a precarious route and many have fallen!

MURDER JUNKIE 05-28-2007 08:12 AM

^ Do you think she wants to "squeeze the juice" ???

boo boo 05-28-2007 09:29 AM

Of course it's possible... I have several female friends, and nothing beyond that.

I didn't think many people on here could relate to that

Kevorkian Logic 05-28-2007 11:51 AM

No, I don't think its natural to be close friends with another girl after you get married.

Most girls assume if a married man is looking of other girl companionship (even if he says just friendship) that the marriage is rocky. In addition, girls instinct is to comfort person in distress, and since they believe marriage is in distress they will attempt to comfort you. Then girl will start to get attached to guy because she thinks he is cute and vulnerable. And the idea of affair pops in mind, which can be a rush, so they act on irrational urge and it all goes to hell. So unless she is a cold apathetic bitch, it is impossible to be good friends when married and it not lead to anything.

adidasss 05-28-2007 11:56 AM

It's official, you're retarded.:-|
