That's very, very unlikely. Somebody will have funded that research and those somebodies will make damn sure that they take some money back from their successful investment. With the current system being what it is, it's probably best that drugs companies run in the most profitable way because otherwise they won't get enough funding to do this cutting edge research and development anyway.

Once scientists in India get their hands on it there's a good chance they'll figure out a way to copy the process anyway, so hopefully a low price would be achieved through derivatives. But I can't imagine that a company would develop a life-saving drug only to make it cheaply available themselves. That just doesn't fit with most of our business values! A company, or university, that acts like that generally isn't a company that makes enough money to fund big research.
