I don't know but, dogs do live longer (generally) than cats do.

Depending on the size of the dog they live an average of 8-15 years, smaller dogs live longer(chihuahua), larger live a shorter time(st. bernards). Cats live an average of 15-19 years, depending on if its an indoor or outdoor cat as well.

Definate means are...
Dogs:12 years
Cats:14 years

Dogs are so clever. We have 2 and when one dog jumps the gate and takes itself for a walk, the other dog will come and tell us!
