iPods are good players, probably the reason why people pick stupid holes in them becuase they can't find anything else wrong with them. I've had mine for just over two years and have experienced one problem with it, which isn't much considering. Although they do have problems, they're going to get most press becuase they're the market leaders. I'd go for an iPod for quality and ease of use, if you don't have a budget that is. I also don't get why people have problems with iTunes, it's so much easier than WMP and isn't so nasty.

Why does it need to have a colour screen? That bumps the price up significantly as you can get a good quality MP3 player for really cheap without the colour screen.

Personally, I want a pink Zune for Christmas. :)

I have about 45gb's now, i just dont feel like buring the cds onto my computer. My point was i dont really need more than 20-30 on there at one time.

Grado>Bose>Sennheiser for headphones, as for mp3 players, i'd say get an ipod if you can FIND ONE FOR CHEAP. i'd never pay the retail price for an ipod cuz it's just outrageous, you can easily find a competitor to do the same **** as an ipod with significantly less frustrating software. apple is b.s. for customer care too, i worked at a best buy for a while and the consensus was don't even bother trying to get help from apple, whereas both sony and sandisk have been very cooperative with customer care issues in past. (in sandisk's case they actually sent a new mp3 player with no questions asked)

So what if your giving money to apple, or everyone has it, or it rep is bad now....Seriously why would you give a **** about what people think of your mp3...its to play music and the ipod def does a damn good job at doing that.

I regrettably fell into the itunes trap 4 years ago, and have been too lazy to try to get out of it.

While the old ipods had some advantages, not being a total waste of money. The new ipod touch is a complete waste of money, being 300 dollars for 8GB of space or 400 dollars for 16GB of space, which is just pathetic.

ipod touch also had an amazing web browser, ICHAT and a much larger screen. 300$ is a fair price

Apple - iPod touch

I'm sorry, at my school I was taught that when faced with the price of 299 you round up to 300 not down to 200

I don't believe you worked for best buy and would recommend someone buying that piece of crap ipod. they quality is sucks if you want to use it for watching videos.....I went to best buy and asked the guy there to turn on one and put it next to another player(it was a creative labs one) The other player had waaaaaaay better resolution on it. The only problem was that it was slightly more expensive at the time but I believe prices have gone down.

But i dont really care about video. And for music playing ipod is certanly not bad. I just dont know what other good competitors there are out there.
