I took shrooms once, and I enjoyed it, but I heard that acid is just a bit more intense, and there is higher chance that you could have a "bad" trip.

That's all extremely subjective and based on dosage.
There are differences between the two substances, but not enough of them to think you'll be exploring a completely new thing between them. Physically and mentally, you'll observe the same effects for the most part.
